Nancy Joyce Kessler

Nancy Joyce Kessler, 75, passed away quietly in her sleep Monday, November 15, 2021. She was a long-time resident of Las Vegas. Graveside services and interment will be December 4, 2021, 11:00am in Logan Park Cemetery. Flowers are welcome and can be forwarded to Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, IA.

Nancy was born July 15, 1946, in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Donald O. and Mabel L. (Casey) Erickson. Nancy was a stay-at-home wife and mother for many years. She divorced when her children were teens, and never remarried. She returned to work in retail as her children became older, and ultimately retired from the banking industry as a customer care representative. She treasured her family, and embraced every moment with them. She was excited to learn that she would soon become a grandmother, and when the day finally came she was absolutely overcome with emotion.

She enjoyed baking with her granddaughter, and watching her grandson play baseball. She was always present, always interested, and never too busy. She was such a blessing. For many years, she was a Mary Kay beauty consultant in her spare time. She enjoyed all things beauty and sharing that love with others.

It is impossible to know Nancy and not know her great love of animals. Her beloved Chester, her rescued cocker spaniel, was her constant companion. She absolutely loved the breed, having had several cocker spaniels throughout her lifetime. He misses her dearly as we all do.

Nancy had a sweet and kind disposition that enabled her to make friends wherever she went. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include: daughter, Tracy Kessler Zbiegien and her husband Stacey of Las Vegas, NV, son, Robert Brian Kessler of Madison, AL; granddaughter, Cassidy Gillis and her husband Garrett of Las Vegas, NV; grandson, Conner Zbiegien of Las Vegas, NV; niece, Lori Erickson Schindler of Ladera Ranch, CA; nephew, Duane Erickson and his wife Jessica of Glenview, IL; nephew, Troy Kessler of Las Vegas, NV; and friends who she considered family, Michael McCrimmon and his wife Verilyn of Las Vegas, NV.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald O. Erickson, mother, Mabel L. Erickson and brother, Donald D. Erickson, all of Sioux City, IA.
