Nellie June Beardshear, 88, of rural Homer, NE passed away at her residence on Saturday, September 15, 2012 while surrounded by her family.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Glad Tidings Lighthouse in South Sioux City, NE with Rev. Michael Ring officiating. Interment will be at the Omaha Valley Cemetery in rural Homer, NE. Visitation will be held at the church from 5:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 18, 2012. She married Lorn J. Beardshear at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on February 27, 1946.Survivors include her husband, Lorn and seven children and spouses, Barbara and Robert Heckathorn, Karen and Terry Meyer, Lorna and Jackson Sherwood, Keith and Cindi Beardshear, Kristen and Larry Eriksen, Janice and Robert Criss, Ann and John Yandell; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers.
