Nellie Stricker

Nellie Stricker was born December 17, 1930, in Jefferson, S.D., the daughter of Alfred A. and Rosie V. (Eshelman) Streeter. Visitation will be Sunday, October 25, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.  A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, October 26, at 10:00 am.

Nellie was raised on a farm and lived in the Sioux City area.  She married Richard Stricker on December 18, 1954, in Luverne, Minnesota. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters in her younger years dancing and sewing clothing for them.  In her later years, she relished time with her family especially with her granddaughter and great grandson.  Nellie took joy in operating her home daycare and loved all of the children as her own.

Nellie is survived by sisters Irene Heck and Violet Anderson of Omaha, NE, stepson Steven (Carin) Stricker of Blue Springs, Missouri, grand-daughter Missy (Melissa) Grant-Sedillo, great-grandson Tavon of Sioux City, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nellie was preceded in death by husband Richard Stricker, son Richard Stricker Jr, stepson Sanford Stricker, parents, five brothers (Harold, Thomas, Alfred, Claude & Theodore Streeter), and two sisters (Marie Baker & Ella Beavers).
