Norma Marie Chasing Hawk was born March 24, 1960.  Norma passed away peacefully in her sleep into the arms of Our Heavenly Father on August 16, 2019 at 3:00 p.m., at Mercy Medical Hospital, Sioux City, Iowa.

Norma was born in Wagner, South Dakota to Louie Chasing Hawk and Lenora (Black Horse) Chasing Hawk. Norma was the third child of three children.  She has one sister and one brother.  She grew up in the community of Milk’s Camp, located on the Rosebud Reservation and attended school at St. Charles and Bonesteel, SD.

In the early 1980’s she moved to Sioux City, Iowa with her mother and siblings.

Norma was a very generous, caring, loving person, with a good sense of humor.  Her talent was being creative, Norma was an excellent artist.  She loved to draw and paint.  All Norma ever wanted was a good life for her two sons’.  She has four grandchildren, Lewie and Lynae Koehler, Jacob Andrews and Gary Chasing Hawk.

She enjoyed dancing and singing,  and at times she would put on her White Go, Go Boots and dance and sing, just like Tina Turner.  Norma loved her music.

She will definitely be missed by her two children, four grandchildren and all her friends and relatives.

We Offer a Special thank you to Mercy Medical (Hospital) Staff who always provided excellent care and services for her.  We, thank you.
