Norma Jean Cooper, 89, of Salix, Iowa passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at her residence.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Norma was born September 13, 1932 in Ponca, Nebraska, the daughter of Sylvester and Agnes (Morey) Kinnaman. The family moved to Luton, Iowa and Norma was raised there. She married Emory Cooper on October 4, 1947 in Sioux City. To this union, three children were born. Emory preceded Norma in death on October 3, 2003.
Norma worked in housekeeping for St. Joseph Hospital and Countryside Retirement Home. She also worked in customer service for MCI before retirement. Norma enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, and fabric painting, but most of all she enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Norma is survived by her children: Leo Cooper and his significant other Joni of Salix, IA, Sandra Lau of Salix, IA, and Steven (Linda) Cooper of Sioux City; grandchildren: Tamra Christensen, Todd Cooper, Laury (Jeremy) Kleinschmidt, Tylor Lau, Shane (Ahndao) Cooper, Justin (Tammy) Cooper, Nicholas Cooper, Cody (Shania) Cooper, and Casey Cooper; great grandchildren: Kelsey, Caitlyn, Jared, Jessie, Tyler, Jayden, Dakota, Isaac, Nathan, Paisley, Serenity, and numerous others; and great great grandchild Elaina and numerous others; brother Jerry Kinnaman, and sisters: Donna Baird, Beverly Brown, and Diane Cosgrove.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, husband, daughter-in-law Barb Cooper, five brothers, and two sisters.
