Norma Louise Parker, 74, of Dakota City, NE passed away March 15, 2013. Norma was born August 31, 1937 to George and Maude (Putnam) Bergerson in Ponca. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca, NE with Rev. Dr. Bud Christenson officiating. Interment will be at the Ponca City Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, March 18, 2013 at the church. Pallbearers are her grandsons: Patrick O'Neill, Shane Armstrong, Michael Armstrong, Tommy Chriswisser, Tony Armstrong and Patrick Hartman. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons: Eric Chriswisser and Thomas Parks Norma attended school in Ponca, NE until she married Thomas Armstrong. To this union two children were born, Rebecca Sue and Steven Thomas. Norma later married Ed Allen, to this union one son was born, Gerald (Gary) Lee. Norma later married Sam Parker. Norma was a long time resident of Dakota City, NE. Norma worked at IBP for many years and various daycares before settling in with United Vending (the cafeteria in IBP/Tyson). Many people had the privilege of enjoying her baked goods during her time there. Norma was a wonderful made-from-scratch, home cook. She was known for her amazing pie crusts and homemade bread. In her spare time, Norma enjoyed sewing (a love she passed on to her daughter) and made beautiful hand stitched baby blankets for all or her grandchildren when they were born. Norma enjoyed drawing, dancing, crocheting, fishing and going to bingo with her sister Doris. Norma loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always had toys and treats ready for them. Norma was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca, NE. Left to cherish Norma's memory are her three children: Rebecca Parks (Lawrence Wolf) of Ponca, NE.; Steven (Cindy) Armstrong of Spencer, IA.; Gary Allen of Dakota City, NE.; three sisters: Darlene (Jim) Biggerstaff of Sioux Falls, SD; Velma (Gerald) Carstens of Pender; Doris (Don) Koeppe of Ponca, NE.; 1 brother, Richard (Sandra) Odle of Ponca, NE.; eleven grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
