Norma (Peterson) Rickett

Norma (Peterson) Rickett of Ponca, NE passed away April 6, 2021 at a local hospital.  A memorial service will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. at Gospel Chapel in Newcastle, NE.  Visitation will be from 4-7:00 P.M. at the church.  Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca is handling the arrangements.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Norma was born on November 15, 1936 in rural Allen, NE to Earl and Hazel (McCaw) Peterson.  She graduated from Dixon in 1954.  She attended Wayne State College and taught in rural schools.  She was a nurses aide in Wakefield Community Hospital and worked for Ponca Schools for 29 years.

Norma was united in marriage to Dean Rickett in 1962.  There were 3 children born to this union; Douglas, Karla and Dennis. 

Norma is survived by her children: Douglas (Jody) Rickett, of Ponca, Karla (David) Kardell, of Laurel, and Dennis (Tina) Rickett, of Ponca; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Dorothy (Loren) Park, of Wayne, NE, Mary Park, of Mt. Vernon, SD, and Ardith (Joe) Schmidt, of Norfolk, NE.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, parents-in-law, 1 brother, 4 brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
