Ora Lee Richmond

   Ora Lee Richmond, 90, of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at a local care center.

   Private services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  Public visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery.

   Ora, the daughter of Jetson and Louverta (Brown) Thomas, was born March 25, 1930 in Hufsmith, TX.  Ora was raised and attended school in Houston, TX. 

   Ora was united in marriage to Herman Creswell Sr. and two children, Patricia and Herman Jr., were born to this union.  Ora and Herman later divorced.

   In April of 1952, Ora was united in marriage to Perry Richmond in Houston, TX and this union was blessed with one daughter, Jo Ann.  In 1957, the family moved from Houston to Sioux City, IA.  Ora worked at the Sheraton Warrior Hotel then worked at I.B.P. for a number of years.  Perry passed away in 2004.

   Ora was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she was a missionary and a choir member.  She enjoyed going to the casino.

   She is survived by her three children: Patricia Copeland of Sioux City, Herman (Paulette) Creswell of Sioux City and Jo Ann Richmond of Ankeny, IA; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Dixon and Phoebe Thomas.  In addition, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Perry; five siblings; and two grandchildren: Terri Copeland and Aaron Michael Richmond.
