Oscar Porras, 67, of Sioux City, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, surrounded by his adoring family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Epiphany at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 6, 2024. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Born on January 27, 1957, in Mexico City, Mexico, the son of Jose and Amelia (Rocha Navarro) Porras, Oscar’s journey through life was marked by hard work, compassion and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones. He married Andrea Guerrero on December 20, 1975.Oscar worked for John Morrell for many years before heath concerns forced him to retire.
Family was the cornerstone of Oscar's life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Andrea Porras of Sioux City. Together, they built a beautiful family that Oscar took immense pride in. He is survived by his children, Genny Porras and her husband Rafael Garcia, as well as Paola Porras De Muńoz and her husband Carlos Munoz, both from Sioux City. Oscar’s legacy continues with his son, Oscar Porras Jr., and his wife Glenda, who reside in St. Louis, MO. He also leaves behind his daughter Diana and her husband Rodolfo DeAnda, who live in South Sioux City. His grandchildren were a source of endless joy and pride for him.Oscar's warmth, kindness and generosity, will forever be remembered by those he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Porras and Amelia Rocha Navarro, and a brother, who will greet him in eternal peace.
Oscar Porras, de 67 años, de Sioux City, un esposo devoto, un padre amoroso y un abuelo querido, falleció pacíficamente en su residencia el miércoles 27 de noviembre de 2024, rodeado de su adorada familia.
La Misa de Entierro Cristiano se celebrará en la Catedral de la Epifanía a las 10:00 a.m. el viernes 6 de diciembre de 2024. La visitación con la familia será de 6:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m. con un servicio de vigilia a las 7:00 p.m. el jueves 5 de diciembre de 2024 en la Capilla Colonial de los Hermanos Meyer.
