Patricia Ann Donnelly

Patricia Ann Donnelly, 84 of Homer, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Homer, Nebraska with Father Mark Beran as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation will be on Monday, October 28th at the Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City, Nebraska from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Patricia was born on June 3, 1940 in Anthon, Iowa to Lester and Marie (King) McNear. She grew up in Iowa, but moved to Homer, Nebraska in 1956. Patricia graduated from Homer High School with the Class of 1958. She married David Donnelly at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Homer on September 5, 1959. 

Patricia worked at IBP for 14 years before becoming Sales Manager at Younkers from 1988 until her retirement in 2005. She was always cooking and taking care of her family. She enjoyed traveling, helping others, and playing at the casino, but most of all loved all her grandbabies and great grandbabies with her whole heart. Patricia was a past member of the Alter Society of the St. Cornelius Catholic Church of Homer.

Patricia is survived by her husband David of Homer, Nebraska; son Vance (Kathy) Donnelly of Jackson, Nebraska, daughter Victoria (Gary) Olson of South Sioux City, Nebraska, son Chad (Melissa) Donnelly of Homer, Nebraska, and daughter Carmen (Brian) Schweers of Ponca, Nebraska; grandchildren Stephanie (Brian) Stith, Katie (Kendal) Thompson, Tyler Donnelly, Trenton (Kelli) Olson, Tanner (Nicholle) Olson, DaCota Donnelly, Cheyenne Donnelly, Holden Schweers, and Hudson Schweers; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Richard (Mary) McNear of Homer, Nebraska; and sister-in-law Donna McNear of Newcastle, Nebraska.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Amanda Jo Donnelly, brothers Jimmy McNear and William McNear.
