Patricia Ann Norton

Patricia Ann Norton, 88, of Sioux City, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 28, 2022.  Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 6, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with vigil service at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.  Online condolences may be directed to meyerbroschapels.com.

Patricia was born the daughter of Phillip and Florence Bernard on January 19, 1934 in Jefferson, South Dakota.  She graduated from Jefferson High School.  Patricia married Robert F. Norton on October 22, 1953 in Jefferson. 

Patricia was a homemaker who did a fabulous job of raising her large family.  She also worked for Montgomery Ward and Wincharger.  She later worked as a house parent at Mid-Step Services and as an activity assistant at Holy Spirit Retirement Home for several years.

Patricia loved music.  She was a gifted organ player and enjoyed playing for the residents at Holy Spirit.  She was involved in several Spirit-filled prayer groups including Light of Life, Maranatha, and Koinonia where she served as music director. 

Patricia is survived by her husband, Robert Norton of Sioux City; children, Bruce (Kaye Martin) Norton of Encinitas, California, , Donald (Margaret) Norton of Rapid City, South Dakota, Michael Norton of Omaha, Diann Norton of Hillsboro, Oregon, Timothy (Maggie) Norton of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Suzanne (Ronnie) VanDeventer of Sioux City; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard Norton; brothers, Herman, Martin, Henry, Phillip, and Ben; sisters, Noella and Rachael; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Norton.
