Patricia May "Patty" Polley

  Patricia May “Patty” Polley, 83, of South Sioux City, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Mohr & Becker Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City. Burial will be at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, and the visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Online condolences may be directed to www.meyerbroschapels.com.  

  Patty, the eldest of four siblings, was born on June 1, 1940, in Falls City, Nebraska, to Paul and June (Gunderson) Bauman. She grew up in South Sioux City and graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1958. She held many positions during her working years, most recently as a receptionist for Midwest Continental Trucking.

  Patty was a longtime member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in South Sioux City. She was a member of Siouxland Ski Club for many years and enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren. Patty spent many enjoyable (and sometimes profitable) evenings in North Sioux City with her sister Judy. A couple of her greatest life moments were seeing Elvis in one of his last concerts ever and getting a hole in one at Sun Valley golf course. 

  She is survived by her children: Joe Polley (Debbie) from Michigan, Greg Polley (Karla) of Sioux City, Lynn Clark from Florida; Todd Polley, & Tim Polley from South Sioux City; sister, Judy Saeger from South Sioux City; and brother, Ed Bauman (Julie) from Illinois. She was also blessed with 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dennis Bauman.

  Patty was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. We also want to send a special “Thank You” to the staff at Regency Square for taking great care of her in the final 5 ½ years of her life.
