Patricia D. "Patty" Richter

Patricia D. “Patty” Richter, 66, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019.  Abiding by her wishes her body has been cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life Service at a later date.  

Patty was born the daughter of Eugene and Julia (Anderson) Beach, Sr. on October 9, 1952 in Sioux City, Iowa.  She married Michael Richter on June 19, 1981 in Elk Point, South Dakota.  Patty and Michael ran several businesses over the years, including the Horseshoe Lounge, Cottonwood Inn, Klemme Truckstop, and Court Street Flea Market.  She also worked for Younkers for many years and later, Shopko.

Patty enjoyed music.  Playing the drums, guitar and singing.  She also liked to camp and decorate her home.  She had a passion for thrifting and trading her possessions.  Patty did not want to be remembered for being a good cook but she absolutely was!

Patty is survived by her husband, Michael Richter of Sioux City; daughters, Ginny Hogancamp of Sioux City, Jodi (Jason) Ward of Sioux City, and Jenelle (Andrew Murphy) Odegaard of Sanborn; brothers, Larry Beach, and Eugene Beach, Jr.; sisters, Ronni Fowler, Julie Peterson and Mary Broyhill; grandchildren, Willo Hogancamp, Jasalyn Ward, Jacob Ward, Jonathan Ward, Jaden Richter, LillyAnn Steele; and a great grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Vern and Jimmy.
