Patrick B. Manning, 70, of Sioux City lost his battle on Saturday, April 10, 2021 with his son by his side.
The family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, 3220 Stone Park Blvd., in Sioux City. Following the visitation on Sunday, everyone is invited to a Celebration of Patrick’s life at Princes Tavern, 1920 Center St., in Sioux City from 3 to 6 p.m. with food and drinks.
Patrick, the son of John W. Sr. and Mary Frances (Volin) Manning, was born June 15, 1950 in Sioux City. He grew up in Sioux City and he attended school at Blessed Sacrament and Heelan High School. In 1968, Patrick joined the United States Marine Corps. He served in the military for four years until his honorable discharge in 1972. He returned home to Sioux City and began working. Patrick was always proud of his work before his failing health made it no longer possible.
On May 7, 1988, Patrick was united in marriage to Mary Engel in Brainerd, MN and they were blessed with one son Benjamin in 1993.
Patrick was a proud veteran and proud member of the American Legion. He loved his flowers and fishing. Above all, his son was his biggest joy.
Patrick is survived by his son Benjamin (Meghan); special friend Mary Armstrong; three brothers: Jim (Joan), Mike (Liz), and Tom (Chris); and nieces; nephews; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother John; and two sisters: Myra Lou and Molly.
Patrick’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Alicia Santiago (Hospice of Siouxland) for her wonderful care.
