Patsy M. Giese, 92, of South Sioux City passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, October 21, 2021. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in South Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Dakota City Cemetery. Mohr & Becker-Hunt Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be directed to www.meyerbroschapels.com.  

Patsy M. (Cahill) Giese was born on December 18th, 1928, to John and Cecilia Cahill in South Sioux City.  

Pat grew up in South Sioux City and was a 1946 Honor Roll graduate of South Sioux High School.

Never one to be afraid of work, Pat had numerous jobs while raising 5 children in her spare time.

She was a Northwestern Bell telephone operator and worked side by side with her husband Bob at the DC Market in Dakota City.

Pat was a loving wife, a devoted mother and a doting grandmother. In her later years she spent much of her time focusing on the things she enjoyed most; spending time with Duke in the patio, telling stories and tending to her flowers.

She is survived by her husband Robert H. “Duke” Giese, 71 years; daughters: Julie (Jim) Towler, and Sheila (Mark) Jungers; sons: Bob (Nancy) Giese, and David (Tami) Giese; sisters: Jackie (Jim Hartnett), and Jo Anne Mast; and brother, Tim Cahill. Pat had 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Cecelia, parents in law Henry and Helen Giese, daughter Kathy, grandson Duke Patrick Baron, sisters Jean Dowling, Betty Martinek, and Peg McGehee.
