Paul H. Voss

Paul H. Voss, 86, of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 at his residence.Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, September 16, 2016 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in South Sioux City, NE with Rev. Gina Gile officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.Paul was born in rural Emerson, NE on October 13, 1929, the son of Henry and Gladys (Dohrman) Voss. He attended rural school near Emerson, then worked on the family farm before serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. He worked at Boyer Valley Fertilizer. Paul married Wanda Horner on January 10, 1959. The family lived in Sioux City, IA for a brief time before settling in South Sioux City, NE. Paul retired in the late 1990's.He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the South Sioux City American Legion Post #307. He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking and tinkering with machines, from lawnmowers to cars.Survivors include his wife, Wanda Voss of South Sioux City, NE; his children and their families, Paula (Brent) Stockton of South Sioux City, NE and their children, Sadie (Josh) Rahn and their son, Henry of Gretna, NE and Chase Stockton and his children, Jordan, Isabella and Reece all of South Sioux City, NE; Thomas (Susan) Voss and their children, Brett Voss and Kayla (Bobby) Elmore all of Colorado Springs, CO; Larry (Sharon) Voss and their daughters, Madison and Raelee of South Sioux City, NE; Amy (Russ) Lilly and their children, Schuyler, Morgan, and Dawson Walchek of Jefferson, SD; a brother, James Voss of South Sioux City, NE; and several grand-animals, nieces and nephews.Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Gladys Voss; and a sister and brother-in-law, Louise (Charles) Gaither.
