Paula H. Cottingham

June 18, 1939 — June 8, 2019

Paula H. Cottingham, 79, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 at a local nursing home.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 13 at 7:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be from 6-7 at the church.  Nelson Berger Northside Chapel is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Paula was born on June 18, 1939 in Des Moines, IA to Paul and Gwenda (Callen) Hayes.  She grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School as well as attended college at SDSU.  She was united in marriage to Robert C. Cottingham II on August 6, 1958 in Sioux Falls, SD.  Together they loved traveling and going on adventures, especially to their beloved mountains.  Paula throughout the years worked as a bookkeeper and office manager of three privately owned family businesses. She was the president of the Green Valley Ranch Homeowners Association in Denver, CO until her retirement.  She enjoyed yardwork, gardening and antiquing, especially for glassware.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Cathy (Lowell) Moore, Denver, CO, Bob (Tammy) Cottingham, Sioux City, IA; grandchildren: Joel Kloppel, Jordan (Cathy) Kloppel, Jessica (Michael) Hardwicke, Shay Cottingham, Robby Cottingham; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters: Kathy (Rog) Wieting, St. Louis, MO, Eleanor (Hal) Falk, Atlanta, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Margie Gullickson.
