Pearl Caroline (Poole) Franks, 96, of South Sioux City, NE left her worldly home October 18, 2011 to be with her Lord.Per her request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, NE with Pastor Randy Knuth officiating.Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Condolences may be posted online at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.Pearl was born November 21, 1914 at 1516 Ingleside Ave, Sioux City, IA, the only child of Claude Earl and Kitty Theresa (Christiansen) Poole. She attended Riverview Grade School, West Junior and graduated the class of 1932 from Central High "The Castle on the Hill". She was the oldest alumni at the first all school reunion in 2007. Pearl married Edward Roy Franks, Sr. and of this union she was blessed with seven children, who in turn were blessed to have her. She worked at the Council Oak Store in Riverside, Shore Acres Ballroom and the Tomba Ballroom until her retirement.She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, NE.Pearl loved to travel, visit relatives, watch golf and was an avid Chicago Bears football fan. Above all, she enjoyed corresponding and visiting with her entire family.Survivors include 3 children and 25 grandchildren, Kay Harder and her children, Pam, Randy, Patsy, Rusty and Jackie; Katy (Ron) Stephan and their children, Tracia, Terri, Tammi, and Todd; Jim (Judy) Franks and their children, Angie, Shelly and Renae; daughter-in-law, Nepha Franks and her children, Chris and Jenny; grandchildren, Noelene, Michelle, Noel Gene, Debbie, Billy Joe, Kathy, Marie, Caroline, Norman, Rodney and Robby; 60 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Kitty Poole; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine (Noel) Michelson; 3 sons and daughter-in-law, Ed Franks, Bill (Betty) Franks, and Bob Franks; son-in-law, Darrold Harder; and 1 grandson, Johnny Franks.In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the family.
