Phyllis L. Reynders

   Phyllis L. Reynders, 96, of Sioux City, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at a local care facility. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Morningside Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Graceland Park Cemetery.    Phyllis was born on February 17, 1926, in Sioux City, to George Reynders Jr. and Hattie (Flaa) Reynders. She attended school in Sioux City, and graduated from East High School.

   She worked as a bookkeeper for Sanford Brothers Insurance, and later for Grandy Pratt Insurance.

   Phyllis was an active member of Morningside Lutheran Church for more than 75 years. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, was active in the Esther Circle, worked in the library, and acted as a bookkeeper for the congregation.

   In her free time, she enjoyed genealogy.

   Survivors include her sister, Arlyne Welch of Sioux City; three nephews: Dennis (Debra) Welch of Gilbert, AZ; Scott (Louise) Welch of Lakewood, CO; and Gregg (Janey) Welch of Woodstock, IL; many grand-nieces and nephews; and a cousin, Jeanette Magnuson of New Braunfels, TX.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; a niece, Robin Baril; a nephew, Randy Welch; and several cousins.
