Quita M. Hoag

Quita M. Hoag, 63, of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016 while surrounded by her family at her residence, following a lengthy battle with cancer.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Burial will be in Omaha Valley Cemetery in rural Homer, NE. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the funeral home.Quita was born in Santa Monica, CA on May 18, 1953, the daughter of Lester and Roberta (Rose) Trudell. She grew up in South Sioux City and attended Heelan High School. Quita married Chuck Smith at the courthouse in Dakota City, NE. The couple later divorced. They lived in South Sioux City where Quita was a homemaker while raising three children. She also worked as a Home Health Aide until her health deteriorated.She enjoyed spending time with her family, crafting, writing poems, shopping and baking.Survivors include her children, Trent Smith, Tonya (Roger) Maryott, and Jacklyn Gregg all of South Sioux City, NE; grandchildren, Cody, Joey, Ricky, Danyalle, Jaden, Allison, Trevor, Ty and Aubrey; siblings, Gary (Janet) Trudell of TX, Daniel (Ursela) Trudell of NV, Wanda (Randy) Weyhrich of NV and Ronette Tenborg of SD; and many nieces and nephews.Quita was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Roberta Trudell.
