Randal James "Randy" Krueger

November 17, 1954 — December 22, 2022

Randal James “Randy” Krueger, 68, of Emerson, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at a nearby hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Father Gerald Leise will officiate. Online condolences may be directed to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Randy was born on November 17, 1954 in Wakefield, Nebraska, to LeRoy and Patricia (Neil) Krueger. He attended country school in rural Emerson, Sacred Heart Catholic School, and Emerson/Hubbard Community Schools.

On October 10, 1975 Randy married his high school sweetheart, Rebecca Stubbs, in Emerson. To this union, four children were born. Randy was a resident of Emerson throughout his life.

Growing up, Randy helped his father on the farm. Following high school he welded for a while, even owning his own welding shop. He eventually got back into farming, and was a dedicated Case IH farmer. He continued to weld on different projects and gifts for family members.

Randy had many passions in life, including: caring for his cows on the farm, collecting antique cars and going to car shows, hunting, fishing, and camping over the years. He was passionate about his community and contributed to many fundraisers and community events, a tradition that will continue even after his passing through Live On Nebraska. He was known by friends as “Yogi,” “Crash,” or “Slewfoot.” He was also known by many for his award-winning chili! He enjoyed going to his early mornings drinking coffee at the local coffee spot, as he and his friends “tried to solve the world’s problems.”

He loved his farm dogs, and often let them ride with him in the Ranger while he did chores around the farmstead. Above all, he loved his wife, children, and grandchildren dearly.

During the time his sons and grandson played football he took pride in supplying cold watermelon and ice-cold water to the team, to celebrate the end of 2-a-day practices. Every year the team really looked forward to this tradition.

Randy was known for his witty humor, and telling stories and jokes.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Krueger of Emerson; mother, Patricia “Pat” Krueger of Emerson; children: Jennifer “Jen” Krueger of Sioux Falls, Mashall Schock of Emerson, Joseph Krueger (Steph) of Omaha, and Erick Krueger of Emerson; three grandchildren with one more due in July: Hunter C., Hunter S., and Brynn S.; siblings: Susan (Mike) Sherry of St. Paul, MN, Karen Holm of Jackson, NE, Debra (Don) Thraikill of Seward, NE, John (Mary) Krueger of Kingston, KS, and Jeff (Becky) Krueger of Thurston, NE; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Rhino.

He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy; three brothers: Leon, Dale, and Patrick Krueger; a brother-in-law, George Holm; and his grandparents.
