Randall Flom, 83, of Newcastle, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at a Sioux City hospital.Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at the Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, Nebraska with Pastor Charles E. Myers officiating. Per Randall's wishes, cremation has taken place.Randall was born in rural Newcastle on November 11, 1926 to John and Mary (Hanson) Flom. He was raised in the Newcastle area where he attended country schools before graduating from Newcastle High School. He married Eva Williams on December 26, 1949 in Ponca, Nebraska. They were married for 61 years. They farmed, and then Randall ran a service station in South Sioux City, Nebraska. The couple moved to Rochester, Minnesota when Eva's position with Northern Bell was closing. After retirement, they moved back to Newcastle.Favorite pastimes included rummaging. They took square dance lessons, where they met many good friends.After retirement Randall restored old tractors, mainly John Deere, making them look like new. He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball.He was a wonderful husband and father.Survivors include children, Dave Flom and his wife, Kim of North Sioux City, South Dakota, Jeni Wright of Madison, Wisconsin and Jeff Flom of Omaha, Nebraska; sisters, Darlene Dunkelberger of Elk Mountain, Wyoming and Maxine Dodds of Everett, Washington; sister-in-law, Rose Flom of Newcastle, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Bob Hahn of Arlington, Washington; many nieces and nephews.Randall was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Duane Flom; and two sisters, Lois and her husband, Vincent Seible and Donna Hahn.
