Randy E. Kratke

Randy E. Kratke, 68, of Crete, NE, formerly of Pender, NE and South Sioux City, NE passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at a hospital in Lincoln, NE.Memorial services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.Randy was born on March 23, 1950 in Lincoln, NE, the son of Edward and Alice (Barg) Kratke. He grew up in the Pender area and graduated from Wisner High School in 1968. He attended college at the University of Colorado in Denver. Randy married Linda Hoins on October 28, 1972 in Guide Rock, NE. They were blessed with two children. He farmed with his Dad by Pender and was a very good salesman for multiple companies. He also owned and operated an interior design business, Rainbow's Edge, from 1985 to 2000. Randy moved to South Sioux City in the early 80's and remained there until moving to Crete, NE in 2013.He was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pender, the Eagle's Club, and several senior centers in Crete. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, celebrating holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, loved old cars, DIY projects and cooking, and he loved to tell jokes.Survivors include his special friend, Joe Elmore of South Sioux City, NE; children, Melany (Brian) Hilton of South Sioux City, NE and Jeremy (Nicole) Kratke of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Aaron and Kaylee Hilton, Justina (Joey) Perera, and Joslyn and Jalysa Kratke; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Ember, Brylee and Easton; brothers, Chip (Suzanne) Schilling, Jerry (Connie) Gerling, Fred Joslin, Jimmy Corder; half-brothers, Hub, Kenny Lee and David Danielson; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Alice Kratke; his biological mother, Wanda (Dan) Danielson; and an infant sister, Linda.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for designations to be made at a later time.
