Randy Joseph Sweitzer

Randy Joseph Sweitzer, 67 of Sioux City, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at a local hospital.  Private family services and burial will take place at a later date.  Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel has assisted the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com

Randy was born on September 9, 1953 in Waterloo, Iowa to Lee and Mary (Franzen) Sweitzer.  He received his education at Heelan High School in Sioux City.  Randy was a thoroughbred owner and trainer. 

Randy is survived by his mother Mary Zook of Sioux City; brothers Rick (Dee) Sweitzer of Sioux City and Mark Sweitzer of Calmer, Iowa; step-sister Sheila (Tony) Martinez; and step-brother Bruce (Molly) Zook.

Randy was preceded in death by his father Lee, sister Mary Christine, and step-father Charlie Zook.
