In Memory of
Rick Redler
June 21, 1957 – June 30, 2020
After a lengthy battle with health issues Rick succumbed to liver cancer Tuesday, June 30th at Mercy Hospital in Sioux City, Ia. As a child Rick loved to play football and was an excellent quarterback. He led his teams to many victories. It follows that as an adult he was an avid Cornhusker fan and seldom missed watching a game.
Rick was skilled at masonry. He was witty and loved living life his own way.
Rick was born to Richard and Wilma Redler in Albion, Nebraska June 21, 1957. His parents left the farm he was raised on in 1965 and moved to Norfolk Nebraska where he attended a Catholic Elementary. The family then went on to live in Fremont, Albion once again, and finally Columbus. In 1972 Rick moved with his father to Renton, Washington where he lived for 4 years before moving back to Nebraska after the deaths of his two youngest brothers. He moved to Hawaii for a year before coming back to settle in Nebraska once again. In 1980 Rick met and fell in love with Mary Talcott, with whom he had daughter, Keri. After Rick and Mary separated he met Rhonda Wagner with whom he had son Ryan. Rhonda and Rick divorced 3 years later but they remained friends throughout the rest of Ricks life.
