Richard Eugene Arioso

Richard Eugene Arioso, 83 of Sioux City, IA passed away on Sunday December 20^th 2020 at Mercy One hospital in Sioux City, IA.

Richard was born on December 20^th 1937 in Sioux City, IA to Herbert (King) Arioso and Florence Jorgensen. He joined the National Guard in 1952. He enlisted in the Army in June of 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1958. He was station at Fort Knox, KY.

He married Sylvia Bernice Rott on October 14^th 1961. He adopted Bryant Arioso in this union. Into this marriage 3 children were born, Belinda Kuecker, Webster, S.Dak., Brenda Lanz, Brookings S.Dak. and Benjamin Arioso, Myrtle Beach, S. Carolina. They divorced in 1977.

Richard was a free spirit and lived life day to day. He held many jobs throughout the United States. He was licensed for Nursing Home Administration in the states of Maryland, Nebraska and South Dakota. He returned to Sioux City in 2001.

He enjoyed reading, playing cards and shooting pool. He received numerous awards in pool tournaments.

Survivors include his children, sister Sharon Wilcox Sioux City, IA, brother Vince Arioso Marion, IA. Many grandchildren & great grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, 1 brother Herbert, 1 sister Joan and a granddaughter Naomi.

Due to Covid 19 a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
