Richard “Dick” Morley, 82, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. The funeral will be live streamed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRGNM8rY688 . A visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:30 P.M. Tuesday, July 20, 2021, also at the chapel. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Dick was born June 1, 1939 at the family home in Sergeant Bluff, IA, the son of Martin and Viola (Flanagan) Morley. He was raised in Sergeant Bluff and attended East High School in Sioux City. After High School, he began working at Sioux Bee Honey as a line worker. He also poured molds at Sioux City Foundry, worked in the warehouse and drove truck of Fimco, and drove truck for Consumer Supply. Following retirement, he worked as a driver for Union Pacific Railroad. On December 27, 1986, he married Judy (Kuehler) Martin in Sioux City. Judy preceded him in death on January 19, 2021.
Dick was a devoted member of The Life Church of Sioux City. He enjoyed everything outdoors including hunting, fishing, and maintaining a large garden. He was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs.
Those left to honor his memory are his daughters Molly Morley-Demilo of Stephenville, TX and Gina Marie Morley of Sioux City; step-children Cynthia (Juan) Martinez of South Sioux City, NE, Cheri Martin of St. Petersburg, FL, Randy Martin of Sioux City, Ben (Shellie) Martin of Sioux City, Greg (Diane) Martin of New Freedom, PA; grandchildren Amber, Sharon, Waylon, Joe, Logan, Raven, Robert, Daniel; step-grandchildren Alex, Katie, John, Brody, Tyler; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings Mary Ellen Burgett of Albuquerque, NM, Virginia Rohmiller of Sioux City, Karen Ouellette of Springfield, MN, Don Morley of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Richard Morley Jr, brothers Michael Morley and Robert Morley, sisters Dorothy Womack, Viola Ballinger, Avon McKnight, and Gloria Mueller.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the family to defray funeral costs.
