Richard F. Jones

Richard F. Jones, 77 of Sioux City passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025. A Memorial Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Richard was born the son of Frank and Gladys (Alvarez) Jones on February 10, 1947 in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Heelan High School in 1966. He worked for John Morrell for 10 years. He also worked at WinnaVegas and Gateway until his retirement.

Richard loved to play Bingo, Lottery Scratch tickets and enjoyed crossword puzzles and fishing. He liked to go to The Hard Rock Casino, Musketeer hockey games and stay home and watch football.

He was a longtime member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. His faith was very important to him.

Richard is survived by his children, Antoinette (Jay) Hegstrom and Christopher Jones; grandchildren, Caine, Daniel, Autrella, Sofia, Serena, Benjamin, Kevin, and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Esmerelda, Valkyrie, and Oliver; and brother, Louis “Baba” (Debbie) Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
