Rickey D. Small

Rickey D. Small, 67 of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha of natural causes.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  Due to COVID, masks are mandatory and there will be no reception following. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday with the family present from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Rickey was born August 26, 1954 in Sioux City; he was the son of Donald and Barbara (Comstock) Small. Rickey graduated from Central High School in 1972 and retired from Tyson Foods in 2016.

On August 11, 2002, Rickey married Barb L. Smith.

Survivors include his wife Barb Small of Sioux City; his children: Mike Socci of Sioux City, Tim Turner and his wife Stacy of Sioux City, Shawna Smutzler of Pittsburg, KS, Jennifer Cornell and her husband Ricky of Pittsburg, KS; his mother: Barb J. Small of Sioux City; brother Dusty Small and his wife Mary of Sioux City; sister Robin Small of Sioux City and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Rickey was preceded in death by his father Don Small and his grandparents.

As a liver transplant recipient, Rickey would like to have donations directed to benefit the University of Nebraska Medical Center and sent to the University of Nebraska Foundation, P. O.
