Rita Fuentes

Rita Fuentes, 95, of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at a Sioux City hospital.Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., with a rosary at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, April 5, 2013 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Sioux City, NE with Father Oscar Perez officiating. Visitation will resume at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, April 5, 2013.Rita was born on May 23, 1917 in Hidalgo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, the daughter of Francisco and Catalina (Dominguez) Tobias. She married Piedad Fuentes and the couple were blessed with ten children. Piedad passed away on September 15, 1973. Rita then moved to the South Sioux City area. After surviving the deaths of five of her children, she raised five of her grandchildren.She liked to stay very active and enjoyed sewing, gardening and plants, and spending time with her family.Survivors include five children, Abel, Evelyn, Juana, Ofelia and Ismael; one brother, whom she loved dearly, Victor Dominguez; and many grandchildren, great, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren.Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Catalina; her husband, Piedad; five children, Elva, Israel, Elia, Fidel and Abel; and 2 grandchildren, Elia and Cesar.
