Robert "Bob" Dean

   Robert G. “Bob” Dean, 83, formerly of Sioux City passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Wayne Countryview Care and Rehabilitation.

   Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2021 at Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City with Rev. Jim Shirbroun officiating.  Burial will be at a later date.  The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

   Robert G. “Bob”, the son of Harold and Lucille (Mahnke) Dean, was born February 9, 1938 in Sioux City.  Bob was raised in Sioux City and graduated from East High School in January of 1956.  He graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Iowa in the Spring of 1961.

   On June 15, 1958, Bob was united in marriage to Linda Miller in Sioux City.  They lived in Iowa City from 1958 thru 1961.  After Bob graduated from pharmacy school, they made their home and raised their family in Sioux City.  Bob owned and managed Dean Drug on 5^th and Pierce later known as Thompson Dean Drug until his retirement.

   Bob was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church since 1964.  He was a member of the University of Iowa Alumni Association.  Bob loved the Iowa Hawkeyes and enjoyed summers at Okoboji and golfing at Indian Hills Golf course.  He loved his family and was especially proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren

   Bob is survived by his loving wife, Linda of Wayne, NE; children: Susan Boeshart (Frank) of Apple Valley, MN and Paul Dean (Lori) of Wayne, NE; grandchildren: Chris Dean, Eric and Kate Boeshart and Justin and Jase Dean; three great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Kack Miller (Gloria) of Blue Springs, MO.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lucille Dean; brother, Richard; son, David; and granddaughter, Amy Dean.

   Pallbearers will be Bob’s grandchildren: Chris Dean, Eric Boeshart, Justin Dean, Kate Boeshart, Jase Dean and Ashlie Fox.

   Memorial contributions will be designated by family at a later date or upon your choice.
