Robert E. “Bob” Harder, 76, of South Sioux City passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at a local hospital.
Per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Bob was born July 5, 1944 in Sioux City, the son of Raymond and Lois (Martinsen) Harder. He grew up in the Ponca and Newcastle area. Bob married Janyce Nobbe on June 11, 1966 in Martinsburg, Nebraska. He owned and operated R&H Refrigeration for 25 years and also worked at IBP and Tyson, retiring as the refrigeration supervisor. Bob was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker and Kansas City Chief fan and enjoyed attending NASCAR races. He loved the many vacations with his granddaughter Abbi.
Survivors include his wife Janyce Harder of South Sioux City; two sons: Steve (Christi) Harder of Oto, IA and Curt (Shelby) Harder of Westfield, IA; three grandchildren: Shyne of Omaha, NE, Corey of Hubbard, NE, and Abbigail of Sioux City; sister: Lana (Bob) Kastning of Ponca, NE; and a sister-in-law: Cleo Harder of Sioux City.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Stacey Harder, and three brothers: Raymond Jr., Alvin, and Jerry Harder.
