Robert George “Bob” Pinkelman, 72 of Ponca, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at his residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wynot, Nebraska with Father Jim Keiter as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Phillip & James Cemetery in St. James, Nebraska. Visitation will be at the church, Wednesday, April 21st from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home is assisting the family. A Luncheon will follow the burial in the church hall in Wynot.
Bob was born on October 8, 1948 in Yankton, South Dakota to Julius and Mildred (Duman) Pinkelman, one of 13 children of the family on the farm in rural Wynot. He attended elementary school at St. James and graduated High School at Hartington Cedar Catholic. Bob was a member of the St. Joseph Parish in Ponca. After high school, Bob attended Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska.
On April 20, 1974, Bob married Linda Beldin at St. James, Nebraska. He worked as a diesel (heavy equipment) mechanic until he retired from Ziegler in 2011. His love was Catipillar.
Bob loved being with family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything to do with wrenching on stuff. He was a true outdoorsman. In his later years, Bob spent his time with kids, grandkids, and helping his brother Eugene on the farm.
Bob is survived by his son Jon (Rachel) Pinkelman and their sons Ian, Sean, Noah, and Calvin, all of Onawa, Iowa, son James (Jaimie) Pinkelman and their son Andrew and daughter Josey, all of Ponca, Nebraska, and son Jody Pinkelman and his daughters Gabi and Gracie, from Sioux City; daughter Cassie (Erik) Klutman and their daughters Reagan and Reese, of Columbus, Nebraska; siblings Ruth Wilwerding, Barbara (Leon) Melstad, Liz (Bill) Kleinschmit, Mike (Janet) Pinkelman, Dorthy (Don) Deblaw, Russel (Jeanie) Pinkelman, Donald (Darla) Pinkelman, Eugene Pinkelman, John (Jean) Pinkelman, Joan (Duane) Suing, and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife Linda, and brother Kenneth Pinkelman, and infant sister Mary Francis.
