Robert “Bob” O. Suker, 82 of South Sioux City passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024. Abiding by his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a small family service will be held at a later date.
Bob was born the son of Orman and Vernice (Elofson) Suker on May 10, 1942 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He graduated from Excelsior High School and then honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1962-1967. He fought in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Meritorious Mast Award in August of 1963, recognizing his exceptional service. Bob married Anna Marie Heid on October 19, 1968 in Hopkins, Minnesota. They lived for several years in the Milwaukee area before moving to South Sioux City in 1985.
Bob worked in hospital administration at Marian Health and later on at Jackson Recovery.
He enjoyed playing golf at South Ridge and Sun Valley golf courses. He was an avid reader and a loyal Minnesota Vikings fan.
Bob is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Suker; daughter, Michelle Suker; grandson, Alexander Pearson-Suker; sister, Ann (Richard) Stout; and nephews, Andrew, Timothy, Peter, and Jon Stout.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
