Roberta Jo Harris

Roberta J. Harris, 72, went peacefully in her sleep at her residence in Sioux City on Monday, February 8, 2010 after a long battle with C.O.P.D.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. with Don Wood officiating. Visitation with the family present will begin one hour prior to the service at the Mohr Funeral Home, 1431 W. 29th Street, South Sioux City, Nebraska. In honor of Roberta's wishes, cremation has taken place. Online condolences may be sent at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.Roberta was born August 20, 1937 to Charles and Veryl (Smith) Mock. She attended Sioux City schools, including Central High. After high school she worked in the offices at Sioux City Milk Producers before beginning her career, which lasted 30 years, with the U.S. Department of Agriculture-A.S.C.S. Division.Roberta was married to Andrew Harris for 18 years. To this union, four children were born. She adored her children, grandchildren, and her dog, Copper. Her favorite times were spent with family and friends. She was "Mom" not only to her own children but many others throughout the years -- Tom, Penny, Steve, Tony, Sue and Denny, just to name a few. Till her last days she enjoyed spending time with, and reminiscing about, times spent with loved family and friends -- Aunt June, Aunt Connie, Aunt Marge, and also past co-workers.She was a very giving and accepting person. Always seeing the best in everyone. She was an excellent cook, a passion learned from her mother, and passed on to her sons.She is lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses, David "Mike" (Nina) Harris, Cody (Kelli) Harris, and Cindi (Darryl) Hall; two sisters, Marjorie Anderson and Doris (C.L.) Surmons; nine grandchildren, Charity, Alexis, Kyrie' and Sean Harris; Cameron and McKenzie Harris; A.J. Garr, Dakota and Drake Williams-Hall.Preceding her in death were her parents; an infant son, Charlie; a brother, Richard "Pat" Mock; and her loving and faithful companion, Copper.Honorary pallbearers are Andrew "A.J." Garr, Cameron Harris, Dakota Williams-Hall, Drake Williams-Hall, Tom Udell, Jr. and Denny Bremmer.
