Roberta S. Schoepf, 74, of South Sioux City, NE passed away at her residence on Monday, April 4, 2011.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Father Dan Wittrock officiating. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. She grew up in the Leeds area, graduating from Leeds High School in 1955. She married Franklin Nelson in 1955. To this union four children were born. She married Mert Schoepf in 1972. She was a homemaker most of her life.Roberta enjoyed NASCAR racing and cheering for Jeff Gordon. She was also an avid Husker fan and enjoyed camping, working in her yard and garden, playing her Facebook games, and spending time with her family and friends.Survivors include four children, Cynthia Hobbs (Kurt Erickson), Randy (Connie) Nelson, Carrie Nelson, Michael (Karen) Nelson; eight grandchildren, Dennis (Brenda), Christopher (Maria), Justin (Debra), Travis, Jason, Jenna, Jacob and Michaela (Levi); eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Gavin, Isabell, Kaitlyn, Jocelyn, Benjamin, Cheyenne and Adam; two brothers, Douglas (Diane) and Donald; two sisters, Shirley and Lynn; one sister-in-law, Yvonne; one brother-in-law, Dan; several nieces and nephews.Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mert; two sisters; and one brother.
