Roland Charles "Chuck" Fowler, 78, of South Sioux City, NE passed away at a local hospital on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.A celebration of life will be held April 29th starting at noon at Chuck's home. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.Chuck was born on May 22, 1938 in rural Decatur, NE, the son of Everett and Gladys (Sorensen) Fowler. He attended school in Decatur before his family moved to South Sioux City where he graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1956. Chuck married Gail Mayberry on December 14, 1957. He was accomplished at many things but really enjoyed driving Semi and working construction. His last job was construction where he retired as a foreman from Tyson. After retirement he still enjoyed driving trucks for his farmer friends hauling grain, fishing with his son-in-law, and spending time with his family. Chuck was the longest living member of the South Sioux City Eagle's club Aerie #2492, which he joined in 1957.Survivors include his daughter, Chemane (Jason) Berger of South Sioux City; grandson, Cory Loux of South Sioux City; granddaughters, Marquell (Billy) Collins of South Sioux City and Kelsie Newman and her fiancé, Levi of Omaha, NE; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Louis (Phyllis) Fowler of Warrensburg, MO; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Gladys Fowler; his wife, Gail in 2009; and a son, Charles "Jay" Fowler in 1989.
