Ronald D. Bicknell

Ronald D. Bicknell, 75 of Allen, Nebraska passed away on Friday, April 3, 2009 at a Sioux City hospital.Funeral services will be held at 6;30 P.M. on Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Mohr Funeral Home, 1000 W. 29th Street, South Sioux City, Nebraska with Pastor Sara Simmons officiating. Visitation with the family present will be from 4:30 P.M. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 7, 2009.Ronald was born to Charles and Ruby (Lampman) Bicknell in Sioux City, Iowa on June 8, 1933. He married Bernetta Macklem on January 10, 1953. He worked as a sheetmetal worker in California for a number of years and was a member of the Southern California Sheetmetal Workers Union. After he retired in 1991, the couple moved to Sioux City, Iowa before moving to Allen in 1996.He enjoyed playing marbles, camping and fishing.Survivors include his wife, Bernetta of Allen; one daughter, Tonie and her husband, Stan Procter of Huntington Beach, California; 2 sons, Darwin Bicknell of Cypress, California and John and his wife, Marjorie Bicknell of Allen, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren; 4 1/2 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Russell Bicknell of San Diego, California; many nieces and nephews.Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and 7 siblings.
