Ron was born on October 21, 1939 in Sioux City, to Harold and Ethel (Johnson) Holmberg. He attended school in Sioux City, and graduated mid-year in 1960 from Leeds High School. Ron remained a Sioux City resident throughout his life.
He worked in sales for Dallas Hall Ford Motor Company, Pontiac, and Means Uniform Sales in Sioux City. Growing up, his father owned H Bar H Riding Stables, and Ron loved spending time around the horses. He rode as a guide with his brother, Dwayne, throughout high school.
Ron was a “car guy,” through and through. He was happiest when working on his many cars, especially his 1966 red Pontiac convertible—which he purchased new, had stored since 1969, and still owned to this day!
He is survived by his brother, Dwayne Holmberg (Barbara) of Golden, MO; the love of his life, Julie Ducommun of Sioux City; two nephews: Brett (Denise) and Scott (Misi); a niece, Amy; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold C. Holmberg and Ethel M. Hansen; sister, Judy McDonald; and brother, Garry Holmberg.
