Ronald Duane "Ron" Norberg

Ronald Duane “Ron” Norberg, 81, of Sioux City, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at home of a heart attack. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2021 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Ron was born on March 23, 1940 in Sioux City, to Marvin and Eleanore (Danielson) Norberg. He served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1960 on the USS Boxer. On December 11, 1964 he married Jean Schlinz in Battle Creek, Iowa. In his spare time, Ron enjoyed gardening and visiting with people. He also enjoyed playing cards. Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jean (Schlinz) Norberg of Sioux City; his children: Duane Norberg of Sioux City; Delann Soenksen (Joel) of Ames, Iowa; Dena Gonzalez (Juan) of Kingsley, Iowa; and Dustin Norberg (Jennifer) of Westfield, Iowa; grandsons: Cody Pullen, Erik Soenksen, Hunter Norberg, and Cody Gaston; three nieces; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Richard Norberg.
