Ronald W. Servine

Ronald W. Servine, 64, of Ponca, NE passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, March 2, 2015 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Rev. Gretchen Ritola officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA. Visitation with the family present will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, March 1, 2015 at the funeral home.Ron was born in Sioux City, IA on February 9, 1951, the son of John and Elaine (Tozier) Servine. He grew up on a farm outside of Waterbury, NE. He attended country school through 8th grade, graduated from Emerson-Hubbard High School in 1969, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Morningside College in 1973. Ron worked at the Sioux City Stock Yards until they closed in 2002. He then went on to be a self-employed order buyer. He lived his life in sale barns and cattle were his passion. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.Survivors include his brother, Tom (Sandy) Servine of Waterbury, NE; sisters, Sharon (Rich) Potter of Ponca, NE, JoAnn Christoffersen of Norfolk, NE and Beverly (Clynn) Heinrich of Rochester Hills, MI; 11 nieces and nephews; 10 great-nieces and nephews; special friend, Pamela Lamprecht and her granddaughter, Jordan of Ponca, NE; and many cousins and friends.Ron was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elaine Servine; and an infant brother, Douglas.
