Rosemary Fester, 79, of Sioux City passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at her residence. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Terry Roder officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. with family present at 6:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Rosemary was born on September 13, 1942 in Sioux City to George and Ruth (Langford) Earley. On February 11, 1961 she married Robert W. “Bob” Fester in Sioux City. Together, the couple raised four children.
She was a member of Sacred Heath Catholic Church.
In her spare time, Rosemary enjoyed camping, fishing, playing bingo, and square dancing with Bob. The couple was a part of the McCook Lake Whirlers. She also enjoyed spending time with her family; she dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: Gary (Joanne) Fester of Sioux City; Tim (Andrea) Fester of Jefferson, IA; Bobbie (Darin) Speichinger of Sioux City; and Kathie (Mike) Church of Sioux City; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Judy (Al) Clayton of Sioux City; and Ruth (Jerry) Riley of Bluffdale, TX; her special friend, Earl McKinley; her best friend, Karla Piersol; and her beloved dog, Jesse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob in 2017; her parents; three brothers; and five sisters.
