Roxene "Rocky" R Cabana

Roxene "Rocky" R. Cabana of Sioux City, IA passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at her residence, while surrounded by her family and friends.Memorial services will be held at 5:30 P.M. on Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Visitation with the family present will begin at 4:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.Rocky was born in San Francisco, CA on November 10th, the daughter of Arthur and Helen (Wilson) Kobernus. She grew up in Sioux City, IA and graduated from Central High School. She married Richard "Dick" Cabana on April 3, 1965. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Stacey and Tracey. Rocky worked for over thirty years at Callahan's Liquor in South Sioux City, NE and was presently employed in the lawn and garden center in Walmart in South Sioux City. She also worked for the last several years as a hostess/bartender at the Skyline Bar in North Sioux City, SD.Rocky loved, and looked forward to traveling, and especially enjoyed traveling to Minnesota. She also loved to dance, spend time with her family, friends and furry friends, and with Cheri's Posse at the pool. She liked to play (and cheat at) cards.Survivors include her daughters and grandchildren, Stacey Cabana and her daughter, Shelby of Sioux City, IA, and Tracey Cabana of Sioux City, IA and her daughter, Jordyn Gilmer and special friend, Jimmy Sylvester of Colorado; her ex-husband, Dick Cabana; her sister, Linda Dye of Sioux City, IA and Linda's children, Mindy Dye and significant other, Jason Courtney of Sioux City, IA, Travis (Angie) Dye and their daughters, Allison and Emma of Kingsley, IA, and Kortney Dye of Des Moines, IA; sister, Kathie Kobernus of Sioux City, IA; best friend, Cheri Wells of Sioux City, IA; many other special friends and family; and her friend/roommate, Gena Olson of Sioux City, IA.Rocky was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Helen Kobernus.
