Roy "Buddy" C. Donelson

Roy C. "Buddy" Donelson, 78, of South Sioux City, NE passed away May 4, 2022 at a local nursing home.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 14^th at 2:00 p.m. at Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA.  Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Roy was born on December 6, 1943 in Fredonia, KY to Roy D. and Odie (Brinckley) Donelson.  He was the youngest of 5 sisters.  He was united in marriage to Judy Long on July 19, 1962.  The couple lived in Lockport, IL before moving the family to South Sioux City, NE in the early 80’s.  Roy began his career at General Motors where he worked for 35 years before retiring.  Roy was a hard worker his entire life.  He enjoyed working on cars, traveling with Judy and watching golf.  Family was very important to him and he would often visit family back in Kentucky.  He was a former member of Landmark Baptist Church before they closed.

Those left to honor his memory include his sons: Roy W. (Kristi) Donelson, South Sioux City, NE, Randy (Susan) Donelson, Hawarden, IA; former daughter-in-law, Angie Dice, Merrill, IA; grandchildren: Cody, Dakota, Brandon, Kassandra, Danielle, Nickolas, and Victoria; sisters: Betty Jean Huckisson, Force City, IL, and Wanda Smith, Orange Park, FL.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant daughter, Judith May Donelson and sisters: Dorothy Mae Crider, Geneva Darnell, and Brenda Joyce Bincent.
