Sandra Kay “Sandy” Harris died on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at her residence in Minnetonka, Minnesota surrounded by her three daughters, Kyle, Stacey, and Alicia, and her caretakers during her journey to her eternal home. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Reverend Joe Behnke officiating. Fellowship and refreshments will follow the service with a private family graveside at Omaha Valley Cemetery of rural Homer, Nebraska to conclude the day. A visitation, with family present, will begin Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Sandy was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Agnes and Harold Schmitt on August 2, 1937. When she was 2 years old, her father passed away, and her mother married Dean Enyeart three years later. She and her sister, Suzanne, were formally adopted by Dean, who was her father throughout her life. She had five siblings: Suzanne, Tom, Bob, Margaret, and Teri. Sandy grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, attending St. Theresa’s Catholic School and Lincoln High School. She graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Education degree and was an active Alpha Chi Omega sorority member.
Sandy married Kay Harold Harris on September 12, 1958, and had three daughters, Kyle, Stacey, and Alicia. Sandy’s talent and passion for working with children were demonstrated in her teaching remedial reading at South Sioux City, Nebraska Schools for 30 years.
Sandy is survived by her brothers Tom (Sandy) Enyeart and Bob (Sydelle) Enyeart; sisters Maggie Carlson and Terri (Jim) Frost; many nieces and nephews; she will be dearly missed by her three daughters, two sons-in-law Bob and Tom, her treasured four grandchildren Bobby (Monique) Graiziger, Kaylyn (Jay) Graiziger, Patrick Codute, and Colton Codute; one great-grandchild, Louie (who called her Grammie); and her beloved dog Angus.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband Kay, her parents, and her sister Suzanne.
