Sandra “Sandy” Kay Trometer, 77, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at her residence.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 3, 2021 with a visitation one hour prior to service time at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Inurnment will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 6, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sandy was born May 20, 1944 in rural Sioux City, the daughter of Nova Jack Sr. and Eileen (Kelly) Haralson. She was raised in rural Sioux City and attended Hinton High School. On December 15, 1962, she married Donald Trometer. To this union, 3 daughters were born. Sandy was a homemaker while her children were young. In 1974, the family built their own home in rural Merrill. Shortly after, she began her woodworking business.
Sandy enjoyed bowling and woodworking; she made many items for her family including rocking chairs and baby cribs. She was Elvis fanatic and collected numerous pieces of memorabilia. She entertained for the holidays and held famous Halloween parties centered around her basement bar which contained a pool table and stage for karaoke. In her last days, she was surrounded by her loving family.
Those left to honor her memory are her daughters Deb (Fritz) McMullin of La Vista, NE, Dawn (Bill) Hixson of Mount Pleasant, IA, Deena McNaughton of Le Mars; grandchildren Karley Havener, Clynton Sanow, Justin Reinard, Taylor Havener, Brady Havener, Spencer Hixon, Amber Hixon, Tori Hixson; great-grandchild Kailey Sanow; brothers Jack Haralson of Merrill, IA, Joe Haralson of Fort Collins, CO; and close family friend Keith Havener.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
