Scott William Morehead, age 63, of Dakota Dunes, SD, passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2022. Scott was born on November 13, 1958 in Sioux City, Iowa to Shirley (Enockson) and the late Virgil (Archie) Morehead. He graduated from Sioux City East High School in 1978 and married his junior high school sweetheart, Susan (Miller), on April 18, 1980. Through this union they welcomed three children: Michelle, Becky, and Brandon. Scott worked in electrical sales for close to 40 years and was a current employee of Van Meter Inc.

Many of Scott’s weekends were spent with Sue at their grandchildren’s activities or sporting events, and he didn’t hesitate to share how proud he was of all their achievements. He was an avid golfer and played in the metro area for over 40 years. Scott and his family were members of Southern Hills Country Club prior to its closing and then joined Two Rivers Golf Club where they’ve been members for more than 20 years – and was honored to have his own barstool with his name on it. Scott cherished his Tuesday and Thursday night men’s league and the many friendships he had made. He was also a true sports enthusiast – always cheering for his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes and his grandchildren’s sports teams. One of Scott’s favorite pastimes was spending time and making lasting memories with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be remembered by many as the life of every party and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his father Archie, Scott is preceded in death by his daughter Becky Anderson, and father-in-law Robert Miller. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Sue; children, Michelle and Jeff Sandin, Brandon and Rachel Morehead, son-in-law Jake Anderson; seven grandchildren he was extremely proud of, Allie and Leah Sandin, Brynne and Reid Morehead, and Max, Kael and Nina Anderson; mother, Shirley Morehead; siblings, Nancy Bramstedt, Charles (Patty) Morehead, and Terry (Liz) Morehead; mother-in-law Darlene Miller; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 5th at 2:30pm at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life Tuesday following the service from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Dakota Dunes Country Club. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Scott Morehead Memorial Fund.
