Sharon L. Bobier

June 7, 1957 — May 19, 2021

Sharon L. Bobier, 63, of Sioux City, entered into the house of our Lord on May 19, 2021, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. In her final days and minutes, she was surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 24, 2021 at Morningside Assembly of God. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences can be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Sharon’s true joys in life were family, friends, and serving others.  She was a humble and faithful servant of Jesus Christ and cared for many as a talented, loving, and dedicated nurse while working in the intensive care unit, hyperbaric unit, and burn trauma unit at St Luke’s Hospital.  Sharon was a part of the response to flight 232, working for 48 hours straight to care for many burn victims.  Her life and career were filled with humility and the many people, even those closest to her, were not aware of her accomplishments.  This included critical care nurse of the year in 1996, helping establish the St Florian Miracle Burn Camp for children, and teaching children how to escape from a burning home.  In caring for her patients, she also ministered and brought a number of patients to Christ.

Known to many as “Grandma Sunny,” she brought joy to the lives of so many, becoming an instant friend to all she met. Holidays, special events, and get-togethers of all kinds were filled with the bright light and joy of her spirit.

Brave and faithful, she comforted others in her final days, asking loved ones not to cry for her as she was going to spend eternity with Jesus and those who had passed before her.  When asked whom else she would like to visit her, in some of her last words, she said “just Jesus.”

As much as this world will miss her, Heaven will eternally bathe in her glorious light and the rays of her memory will forever brighten our earthly shadows.

Sharon is survived by her husband Mike; daughters Angela Erlandson (Jerry) and Arianne Conley (Matt); son Aaron Bobier (Lindsey); sisters Sharrell Wright (Derald) and Michelle Christensen (Randy); brothers Doug Cliff (Fiel), Ron Cliff (Lori), and Rick Cliff (Kristin); mother Patricia Cliff; grandchildren Alex, Zoe, and Ella Conley; Elise and Cali Erlandson; Victoria Hamilton (Ted), Tyler Rochester (Kendra), and Tinsley; great-grandchildren Carsson, Dake, Graham, and Rosie Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by her father Farrell Cliff.

Her family would like to extend special thanks to those who comforted and cared for her in her final days, including Dora and Bryce from the palliative care team at UnityPoint Hospital; Stephanie, Casey, and Aimee from Hospice of Siouxland, and Marcia and Hailey, as well as the other nurses from the oncology unit at UnityPoint.

In lieu of flowers we ask that her memory and service be blessed with donations to the St Florian Miracle Burn Camp or Hospice of Siouxland.
