Sharon K. Bostwick, 67, of Ponca, NE passed away at a Sioux City hospital on Saturday, May 28, 2011.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at First United Methodist Church of Ponca with Pastor Sheila Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Silver Ridge Cemetery in rural Ponca, NE. Visitation will begin at the church at 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Online condolences may be posted at www.mohrfuneralhome.com.Sharon was born in Ponca, NE, on March 13, 1944, the daughter of Milton and Alberta (Enders) Meyers. After attending Ponca Public School, she worked at Northwest Casualty in Omaha. She married Roger Bostwick in Ponca, NE, in 1963. To this union one son, Troy was born. The couple lived in Ponca most of their married life. They also enjoyed living in Wakefield, NE, for a few years. Sharon worked at the Ponca Dry Cleaners and Atokad Park, but spent most of her years as a homemaker. Sharon grew up attending the Presbyterian Church in Ponca with her family. After she was married, she joined the First United Methodist Church of Ponca.Sharon enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and cards, reading, going on walks, getting her hair and nails done, going out to eat, and spending time with friends and family. She especially loved spoiling her two grandkids, listening to their music and attending their many activities. Sharon was a true social butterfly. She spent most of her days out and about town keeping up on everything and visiting with everyone she met. She devoted much of her time to caring for friends and neighbors, many times putting their needs above her own. She loved her daily coffee time with friends and never knew a stranger.Survivors include her husband, Roger; one son Troy, and his wife, Dawn Bostwick; and two grandchildren, Jessica and Aaron Bostwick, all of Ponca, NE; three sisters, Inga Rasmussen of Barstow, CA, Joy Russell of Sioux City, IA, and Jenny (Leon) Conrad of Ponca, NE; two brothers, Paul Meyers of Fayetteville, N.C. and Jack (Nancy) Meyers of San Jose, CA; and many nieces and nephews.Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Alberta Meyers; three brothers, Melvin, Creighton and Joe Meyers; brothers-in-law, Alyn Rasmussen and Robert Russell; sisters-in-law, Karen, Rita, Grace, and Jane Meyers.Sharon's motto to live by was, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
