Sharon Carleen Gubelman

Sharon Carleen Gubelman, 78 of Jackson, Nebraska passed away peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2022 at a local hospital, surrounded by loved ones following a stroke.  A Celebration of Life Visitation will be tonight, Thursday, January 13^th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m.  Family will be present the entire time.  Burial will be in the spring at St. John’s Cemetery in rural Jackson, Nebraska.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com

Sharon was born on May 1, 1943 in Winnebago, Nebraska to Wilbur and Victoria (Price) Lucart, one of eleven children.  She was raised in Winnebago.

Sharon met Walter Gubelman, and the two married in 1962. For a short time, they lived in New York, where they welcomed their daughter Shari.  Not long after, they moved back to Winnebago and eventually settled in Jackson, Nebraska.  Sharon worked at IBP, retired after 42 years, and made amazing life-long friendships.

Sharon is survived by her husband Walter of Jackson, Nebraska; daughter Shari (Tyler) Hartwell of Sioux City; granddaughter Amina Hartwell; brother Leslie (Sharon) Lucart of New Mexico; special friend Tammy Gruis; and many nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, brother Barney, sisters Alfreda, Donna, Jackie, Florence, Norma Jean, Mary, Patsy, and Helen.
